Green Acres IS the place to be
Edited on Tue Mar-30-04 12:03 AM by Insider
they climbed a pole to talk on the phone

ralph & alf did repairs (ralph was a woman, who wore her hat backwards)

arnold ziffel was a pig (really)

spinoff: crossover: uncle joe (carson) and petticoat junction (a whole 'nother thread)

eb!, mr. haney!!, hank kimball!!!, and sam "the man" drucker!!!!

best of all? after the theme song, before the show started, those few little chords were to die for. it was like the rest of the orchestra went on break and only two guys were left, sleeves rolled up, playing those stupid little chords.

i can't stop laughing.

"keep manhattan, just gimme that country siiiiiiiide"

I loved that show as a kid. What was up with Ralph?
Very surreal for the stoner crowd.

3. No, no, no - Green Acres spun off from Petticoat Junction.
Not the other way around. Still miss Bea Benadaret as Cousin Pearl in "The Beverly Hillbillies" and as Kate Bradley in "Petticoat Junction." What a wonderful actress.

6. I think my fave
was when Ralph got drafted and Douglas had to get her out on the grounds she was a girl. He did, but then they drafted Arnold.

"But he's a pig!"

"We don't care about his table manners Mr. Douglas."

Priceless.

But the whole show is priceless. And Eva Gabor could see the credits!

TVLand was doing one of their info spots and said the original Arnold was slaughtered and eaten. My Mom turned off the TV and walked away. "What a terrible thing," she said, "he was a great actor."

Seriously.

Khash.
