What is a Brake Lamp?

On my car dashboard a little light came on that said 'Brake Lamp' - I've never seen this before.

Does this mean one of my brake lights is out or something?

What exactly is a brake lamp?

6. Wow...I had a 1993 Honda Accord. I don't recall anything like that.

Although, I don't recall a bulb ever burning out on me either. I wrecked it when it was 6 years old. :shrug:

Driven with the emergency brake on. And it was only a few yards before I noticed. :)

access will be thru the boot, from the rear of the brake lamp...

Tiffany's most assiduous competitor, and created masterful lamps of colored glass, twine, and bits of this and tha he collected in his primary job of junk dealer and ragman.

His lamps were works of art rivalling Tiffany's, but, alas Brake Lamps just didn't last very long, being made of some inferior materials.

There is one of the few surviving ones in the Cooper-Hewitt museum under glass in controlled conditions.
