"What was supposed to happen ... clowns jumping out of a car?"

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Returning to the television network which broadcast her infamous Super Bowl wardrobe malfunction, pop star Janet Jackson (news) insisted on Monday the flicker of breast "was an accident."
“Welcome to the show. Now, that's (her dress) almost malfunctioning isn't it?" the talk show host quipped about the dress soon after Jackson walked on stage.

"It truly was an accident. It was very embarrassing for me to have so many people see this little breast," Jackson said softly in a voice reminiscent of actress Marilyn Monroe (news). "It was supposed to kind of happen like that, but I wasn't supposed to come out of it the way I did."

To which Letterman shot back: "What was supposed to happen ... clowns jumping out of a car?"

1. Dave was a crackup last night.
She says "can we talk about anything else", and Dave shot back, "well, no, what did you think we were going to talk about?"

She's as ditzy as her brother is...

3. I was curious to see what she would say
why I expected her to say anything thoughtful or intelligent I don't know. I am so sick of clueless celebrities... he asked her if perhaps it was uncool for a male to be ripping off part of a woman's clothing in the first place... no response. Why think? Why consider the impact of your behavior? This is a supposedly intelligent woman?

sorry this just really irritates me! of course it it Letterman, but why did she think anyone had her on anything except to talk about "the incident" GRRRR

There was an incident on the View not to long back where he got beeped. The original movie MASH was famous for making the rounds censored. There was a Sgt that was always moaning about the army. His lines were all along the line of God Damn army jeep. God Damn army food etc. God got beeped and it just came out Damn army jeep etc

4. Interesting that they mention the Marilyn Monroe comparison
That is exactly what I was thinking when I saw the interview. She was trying to act innocent and seductive at the same time.
