4. pretty close to her biography

with your usual Hollywood "improved for drama" added preservastives.
sorry, I'm a stickler for history.
The best part of the Frida movie is that it was actually flimed at her house in Mexico (which is now a museum). You can't get more authentic that that!
edit: she never wrote an autobiography but Hayden Herrera wrote her biography

6. I enjoyed Herrera's book
The description of her cremation really stands out: friends and family watching the process.

9. Salma did a good job
Frida is such a popular figure I was afraid the movie was going to be shite...especially when I heard Madonna was vying for the role!! (god no!) I was pleasantly surprised with Salma's portrayal and her efforts to bring this incredible story to the silver screen.
As a child I lived several years in the San Angel section of Mexico DF, close to the Diego/Frida attached houses. I'm also a huge Diego fan. His mural in Detroit is phenomenal.
