I am now spending a few days every week in conservative country
From my parents, the conservative campaign signs, all the way to the "freedom fries" on the menu at the local bar.

It gets worse, tomorrow I have to help my infirm step-father vote and of course he is voting straight republican. I am HELPING the conservatives tomorrow!! Damn. :)

1. Sprain your ankle
Okay, that's probably not nice, but since this guy is only a step-father, let him get his own personal responsibility loving, big government hating, no doubt receiving some very nice benefits from Medicare carcass to the polls himself.

Okay, I'll say it: You're a far better person than I am.

4. Thanks.
I have no choice, but I have a lot of conservative friends and family and I refuse to disown any of them because of my politics.

2. That's what democracy is all about - good for you.
:patriot:

Maybe you can instill a few doubts on the way to the polling place. Not likely, but... Anyway, when he hears from Fox News et al about what a worthless lot of anti-american scum liberals are, he'll remember one of them taking him to vote.

6. There are three televisions downstairs
and they are all run off one cable box that is always set on foxnews. So when I am cooking in the kitchen I have to stomach foxnews or go through the hassle of figuring out the dish menu and changing the channel using the main TV. I could have lunch ready by the time I get the channel changed.

I think it's good for liberals to watch stuff like foxnews and such,it's good to have the upper hand on what's being force fed to the righties.

5. Every election my mother and stepfather and
older sister and hubby cancel each other out..one is Republican and one is Democrat. We have a long tradition of this in my family and yet despite cancelling each other out, both couples vote regularly..:)

8. My family is split right down the middle
Half are conservatives, the other half are liberals. When I became politically aware, I had to learn to be tolerant of other's political views pretty quick!

My little brother was president of a logcabiner chapter in a major city. After 8 years of bush, he is now very liberal! So I have hope for the conservative half of my family.
