I learned something today
I learned that the giants are from San Francisco. I thought they were a NY team, with a vague niggling in the back of my mind that they might have moved recently. Wikipedia tells me that they moved in 1957. Now I feel slightly out of touch.

1. Another factoid for you:
The Polo Grounds was not a stadium whose naming rights were purchased by Izod™.

2. Huh?
now is that a real factoid or just meant to confuse me?

3. It is a fact, but it was also a lame attempt at humor.
The New York Giants (before they moved to San Fran) used to play years ago in a stadium in Manhattan called The Polo Grounds.

Izod is a clothing company known for making the polo shirt designed by tennis star Rene LaCoste popular.

If the ubiquitous trend of purchasing naming rights to stadiums had existed in the early 20th century, it's not a stretch to think that Izod would associate itself with the Polo Grounds.

6. Ah
I am sorry. Neither part of the factoid impinged on my knowledge base, so i missed the joke. If you want to tell it again, I will understand and attempt to laugh, however.

5. That makes everything so much clearer
and would explain why my only hint of supposed sports knowledge appeared to predate my birth, making me feel aged beyond my years.

Have these NY giants always been there, or have they also moved around?

7. According to Wiki
they've been there since 1925 which certainly predates my birth.
