My wife is getting screwed by her workplace today.

She had to fill out a paper to get vacation time off.

The days she requested Nov 1(Monday) Nov 5 (Friday) Nov 8th (Monday) off using vacation days. This past Friday she comes home from work with a copy of the request which was checked marked approved. She put in on the table with a bunch of other papers. Unfortunately our one cat hasn't been feeling well and accidentally peed on the papers. I threw out the papers including the vacation request copy.


Well she went in this morning and had some extra time so she checked her time sheet (she punches in and out on a computer and basically her time sheet is all computerized.) and on the Monday spot it says No Call No Show.


She goes up to the supervisor saying My time sheet says I didn't call or show up but I put in vacation request. Says he'll talk to personnel manager. Later this afternoon two other supervisors came around to her saying they need to see the copy of the vacation request to see it was approved.

So my wife is basically getting screwed out of her vacation. Yeah, we probably shouldn't have thrown out the peed stained paper BUT why the fuck aren't they keeping better track of the paper work?!

Seriously, that sucks. Pointless bureaucracy is the bane of the workplace.
