You'll find similar sites related to backpacking;not just the lace knots, but all different styles of lacing your boot to add or remove pressure on certain parts of the foot, or prevent boot movement in one direction or another. It can get kind of complicated - and although it seems trivial at first, good lacing has a big impact after a couple dozen trail miles...

4. Double knots

Or tie the "bows" of the laces afterwards.

Or, the problem is often that the rest of the laces aren't "tight" and cause the bow to loosen when the slack moves around.

Tighten your laces, not against the shoe, agains itself. (i.e. take the bows after you tie them and "pull" the bows, hard)

8. use an a & p knot. mr rogers taught it to me. i'm series.

when you tie the initial knot, wrap around one more time. this is a knot that will stay snug while you tie the bow. and yeah, a double knot on the bow, and you almost need a knife or something to untie them sometimes.

and for you youngens, the a & p was a grocery store chain, and before the invention of plastic, they used to wrap you meat and other stuff in paper and tie it with string. i am old enough to remember that shit.

If round, and even some flat ones, go to the nearest music store and pick up a small package of rosin(used for string instrument bows)and gently rub some of the stuff into the laces.
