I think I'll get an orange tabby cat

2. That isn't fair to the cat. I had an orange tabby named "Garfield" who made it to 16 years.

This guy could clear the top of the fridge from the floor - no counters, just a jump. He chased dogs out of the yard on a regular basis. The funny thing about it is that he didn't have front claws (showed up that way), but the DOGS didn't know that. It is a fair bet that most dogs know about what cats pack under those cute little pads.

He weighs 14 lbs, will be 2 years old next month, and he still thinks that he's an 8-week-old kitten. If you have a 14-lb, orange, fuzzy cannonball land on your tummy from 6 feet across the room at 3:30 am...you know you're spending the night at Chez Lyric-Rhythm, lol.

interestingly, my very favorite orange tabby, Sean Timothy Michael Murray, was all but mute, though he did have a wicked purr. This may have cost him his nine lives when he got FUS at age 5 and never meowed to tell us he was in pain. :cry:
