1. Been there, done that. Just call the TECH support number first (if there is one). Trust me.
They'll patch you in to a payment representative and you'll have an open ticket showing there was a problem with the IT end of things. Demand (don't ask) that they kill any "convenience fee" type charges because it is their site that's fucked up. They will.

2. Eventually went through. Slow as fuck, but it did.
And I don't pay additional fees for online banking, so it's OK.

3. I actually meant for the phone call. The last time that happened they wanted to charge $15 !
Just for talking to a human! I said (in more diplomatic language than this) "FUCK NO!"

They processed it anyway and without the fee. If their computers are down, they really have no right to charge you for human contact.

AT&T's DSL is less than stellar in reliability.
