Are there any Thanksgiving songs?
The Christmas song season has started, but I was wondering if there are any songs about Thanksgiving.

And not "Over The River And Through The Woods."
That's a song about a trip to Grandma's for dinner.

2. Yeah, other than "Alice's Restaurant", my wife knows a shitload of them.
They're all targeted at four-six year olds, but they do exist.

8. According to the lyrics
and Wikipedia, "Over the River and through the Woods" IS a Thanksgiving song.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Over_the_River_and_through_the_Woods

Over the river, and through the wood,
To Grandfather's house we go;
The horse knows the way to carry the sleigh
through the white and drifted snow.
Over the river, and through the wood—
Oh, how the wind does blow!
It stings the toes and bites the nose
As over the ground we go.

Over the river, and through the wood,
To have a first-rate play.
Hear the bells ring, "Ting-a-ling-ding",
Hurrah for Thanksgiving Day!
Over the river, and through the wood
Trot fast, my dapple-gray!
Spring over the ground like a hunting-hound,
For this is Thanksgiving Day.

Over the river, and through the wood—
And straight through the barnyard gate,
We seem to go extremely slow,
It is so hard to wait!
Over the river, and through the wood—
Now Grandmother's cap I spy!
Hurrah for the fun! Is the pudding done?
Hurrah for the pumpkin pie!

Thanksgiving Day

When we were farmers
We hauled in the harvest
And founded Thanksgiving Day.
With food in the shed
For the winter ahead
We would gather together to say--

Thanks for our health.
Thanks for our hearth
And the bounty that grows from the ground.
With our loved ones near
We bless the year
That’s brought us safely ‘round.

Now we are shoppers.
We drive to the market.
The farm seems a lightyear away.
Still, every November
We pause to remember
That time-honored, old-fashioned day.

Thanks for our health.
Thanks for our hearth
And the bounty that grows from the ground.
With our loved ones near
We bless the year
That’s brought us safely ‘round.

Everything changes,
Yes, even Thanksgiving.
Let’s rededicate this old day
To helping the hungry,
The poor and the homeless
So all may be able to say—

Thanks for our health.
Thanks for our hearth
And the bounty that grows from the ground.
With our loved ones near
We bless the year
That’s brought us safely ‘round

11. "We Gather Together"
I think it went something like:

"We gather together
To eat the dry turkey,
To gag on the dressing,
And then fall asleep . . . "

Or something.

12. The only one that comes to mind is
The "Alka Seltzer" commercial of many years ago.

"Plop! Plop!
Fizz! Fizz!"

Remember?
