Gonna Watch Precious Tonight
Was it a good movie? I haven't seen it yet. I heard it is good, but rather "dark." Any tips/warnings before we watch it?

5. If we tell you it will give away the story line. It deals with nasty family dysfunction
and the hateful hard world and the people trying to make it better but can't do much.

2. It's "rather dark" the way the Titanic "rather sank."
And it's very, very good. Be aware, though, you're going to be seeing some hard human experience. And some bodacious acting!

4. It's a hard movie to watch.
That said, it is very powerful and moving. Just be prepared for some breathtaking performances.

6. Just like the book, the story was told in such a way that the ick factor was minimized to a degree.

You will be amazed at the human spirit displayed. As storytelling goes it was amazing.

9. Great but intense movie - 100% worth it though
If you are like me, you might not be able to shake the feeling for a few hours/days

but it's really a great piece of filmmaking.
