Do you have any friends with double middle names?
Do you think it makes someone seem pretentious to have two middle names?

1. not that I know of but I'm thinking of Dusty Springfield
she was born Mary Isabel Catherine Bernadette O'Brien, and Cilla Black: Priscilla Maria Veronica White

maybe more common for the Brit gals? They both came from very humble beginnings.

Her business cards are 3 inches long.

5. I have two middle names
One for each grandma. Except my maternal grandmother didn't like her first name, Maud, so I got her middle name instead.

Pretentious, moi? I don't use either of them, apart from legal documents.

6. all three of my daughters....
given the last name and my distaste for common *or* weird first names, it made sense for us. Ages 19, 21 & 23 and they all like their multiple names, although it makes it challenging on some standarized forms. :hi:

7. Is it an Irish thing or a Catholic thing (or both)?
.

.
.
.
I was raised Catholic and you give YOURSELF a fourth name when
you go through the Catholic sacrament of Confirmation.
.
.
.
.
.
I chose the name of what would have been my year-older brother
(he died very shortly after birth).
.
.
.
.
.
It was actually my third choice. My folks had put their foot(s?)
down and forbid "Bozo" and "Dan'l".

8. My mom.
Edited on Mon Nov-08-10 01:26 PM by Iggo
She wasn't supposed to last the night, and they named her after everyone in sight: doctors, nurses, orderlies, janitors, priests, nuns...you name it, they did.

Later on, her mom finally settled on a first name, two middle names, and a last name. (Gran was Irish from Ireland, and Gramps was English from England, if that means anything. EDIT ADD: Catholics, in case that wasn't clear.)

13. My mom has four middle names.
Sadly I don't care for any of them, but I always liked the idea of multiple middle names.
