I'm sitting here in my home office and I can hear my neighbor hunting out in my back lot. looks like I'll be having Bambi burgers this winter!

My son is interesting in learning how to hunt, and I'm going to learn with him. He's interested in grouse (also nomalicious), while I'm coming to terms with wanting to learn how to use one of these just to get my own venison:

You know, stick it up the deer's ass and use it as a handle to drag it out of the woods.

Which of course reminds me of a good-quality Republican joke: Two Republicans went hunting and shot a deer. They made sure it was dead then started dragging it out of the woods--and they were having a hell of a time doing it.

One guy looks and says to the other, "I see what the problem is: We've got it by the back legs, and are dragging it against the fur. If we drag it by the front legs it'll be easier."

So they go around front and started dragging the poor beast. After a couple hours the first guy said, "I told you: it's a lot easier to drag with the fur."

The other one said, "that's true, but camp keeps getting further and further away."
