Apprently they started as the Vinnie Vincent's back-up band (Vinnie Vincent Invasion) and could see how pointless that was and left him high and dry after one gig.

And then immediately went on to multi platinum success.

Back in the 80s I thought Slaughter was pretty much a joke--but good decisionmaking like bailing on Vinnie Vincent is something I can respect. After a fashion! ;)

1. That's like having newfound respect for Nickelback for not murdering kittens.
VVI was too guitar heavy for the glam scene, and were destined to fail. Same reason Yngwie Malmsteen's brief foray into "glam" was SO brief.

3. Nevertheless--if Nickelback were poised to murder kittens, and
then gave up--well, it'd still raise my opinion of them!

I'm going through Guitar World's 100 worst guitar solos and riffs of all time, and I must say I find it highly entertaining! :)

Next I am gonna check out Venom's "At War with Satan."

I'll let you know how it goes!

But not much else by them.
