Druggie mom threw baby into washing machine (with Mug Shot o' the Week!)

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/2010/11/09/2010-11-09_baby_dead_after_mom_tosses_infant_into_washing_machine_launches_spin_cycle_cops.html

Lyndsey Fiddler, 26, was high on drugs when she put her newborn daughter, Maggie May Trammel, in the washing machine along with the dirty laundry and started a washing cycle, local station NewsOn6 reported....

After hearing a clunking noise coming from the washer, she opened the lid and found the dead infant.

Fiddler, who is being held on $100,000 bail, tested positive for a variety of drugs, including methamphetamine, amphetamines, benzodiazepine and opiates.

Under questioning, she told police that she wrapped her daughter in a blanket and gave her a pacifier, but was unable to remember how the baby ended up in the washing machine and went through an entire washing cycle.

Words fail me...

1. Tragic. Words fail me, too.
When I was in my 20s I was unfit to have children and I knew it. That's why I didn't have any.

4. Very tragic and could have easily been prevented.
She tested positive for drugs while pregnant with her daughter, and her family tried to have her parental rights stripped. This poor baby should have been taken from her horrific excuse for a mother at birth.

5. She's only 26 years old? She looks older than me and I'm in my 40s
Drugs will really age you quickly

6. I thought she was in her 40's but she's only 26.
Rest in Peace Maggie May Trammel. You deserved a mother who would have fought to her last breathe to defend you instead of one that put you in the washing machine with dirty laundry.

8. This person can carry a baby to term and deliver and yet so many women
who carefully plan and watch what they eat and take vitamins are miscarrying or never conceiving in the first place. If ever you needed evidence that life is unfair...

Poor baby. I hope she didn't suffer.

10. I think we all know life isn't fair.
Poor kid, I can't understand why the mother was allowed to keep custody?
