Someone defriended me on FB over a Bush Cowboy hat joke

She was complaining that someone in her office wore a cowboy hat to work and looked like a dufus.

So I said "Does George Bush work in your office"

He wore cowboy hats for Christ sake.

She was someone from high school - I've defriended people from HS when I've found out they're die-hard republicans. And I'd defriend someone if they made an inappropriate joke.

I don't think that was so inappropriate or that even a republican or Bush admirer should be that offended.

Oh well. I guess I don't have to worry about offending her anymore.

22. I defriended someone from high school

a few months back when she went off on a rant about how President Obama had spit in the faces of veterans by (1) taking a few days' vacation and bringing the girls back home to Chicago for the Memorial Day weekend; and (2) going to the Memorial Day observance at the National Cemetery in Illinois instead of at Arlington. When I wrote that there was nothing magical about Arlington and the idea that the POTUS would honor America's military dead in other locations than Washington meant more to families than the same ceremony year after year at the same place could or did, she ranted some more about liberals and Obama lovers. I decided that life was too short to have to read her GOP kissing comments.
