1. As a fan of some modern music, I'd largely agree.
It's part of the reason my two favorite bands (Death Cab for Cutie and The Decemberists) are bands that mostly perform acoustic. Likewise, I love me some She and Him because M. Ward is a fucking purist, man...the guy fucking hates amplifiers even...and Zooey Deschanel can flat-out sing and doesn't need that shitty autotune modification.

If you think there isn't any good modern music, you aren't looking hard enough. I admit, a lot of popular music is garbage. But there's a lot of good music that just doesn't get airplay.

To be more precise, modern pop and hip-hop music is computer-driven frankenmusic. IMO, real music involves freakin' instruments!!!
