I'm very proud of my daughter tonight.
Of course I am always proud of her, but tonight she really stepped it up as she made the Varsity soccer team at her school as a freshman. She's worked very hard over the past few years playing on the competitive club team and it looks like it's paid off.

Here's a shot of her from a club game last week.

1. Hey!
bluesbassman:hug:
Missed you...
Life is good...proud daddy...
And she's beautiful....

There is nothing quite like being proud of our children....
Joy!
Bittersweet, though, when we remember them as 'littles'....
Daddy's little girl....:-)

:hi:

peace~
p.s...miss you in the music threads...

2. Hey to you!
Thanks for the nice words. She is Dady's little girl (except not so little anymore - pushing 5'7"!).

It iss hard to watch them grow up. These years go by sooo fast. My son is a senior and almost gone. I'll only have her for a few more years, but they'll be amazing years I'm sure.

I'll try to pop in a music thread now and then. I've missed you too. :loveya:

3. That's great to be a varsity player as a freshman!
My great niece is ten and loves soccer- her mom said last Saturday they went to a nearby college to watch a women's team play, and she was happy to hear her daughter say she wants to be there "in a few years". A cousin's daughter played at U.C. Santa Cruz. Maybe your daughter will get a scholarship!

4. Thanks marzipanni!
If your great niece is ten, that's about the age they can start playing for competitive teams. May depend on where they live, but my daughter started competitive play at the U10 level. Lots of travel, but playing teams from different areas really provides experience they just can't get playing the same opponents over and over. It's also helped her develop into a very confident and poised person, so if she gets nothing more than that out of her sports experience it will have certainly been worth it.

My daughter wants to play at the collegiate level, so if she can get on a team she'd be thrilled. A scholarship of any kind would be a bonus!

7. Good for her and you!
My two daughters were softballers (I coached). It's a gas.
That's a Gibson ES335 in my pic, love blues too.

15. Thanks panader0. Softball is an awesome sport too.
My daughter played for a few years, but ended up focusing on soccer.

Nice ES335. Love that sound, especially through a Super Reverb or hotrodded Bassman. Great guitars. Yours is a tabacco burst, yes?

11. Congrats to your daughter!!
Pride in our kids -- makes so much worthwhile. All the times when we held their hands through hard times, dried their tears, saw them through not-so-great issues. Pics like this -- fantastic!!

Happy for her and your family. It's a great feeling.

19. Thanks kimi!
Events like this are the icing on the cake. To see the look on her face after they told her she made the team, wouldn't trade that for anything.
