1. Heck of a song, BUT !!!!!
Back when myself and a few other Democrats were in VN, it was Johnnie Rivers "24 Hours to Tulsa"....'cause if you took a 707, stopped in Okinawa for fuel, it would take almost exactly 24 hours to get to Tulsa. I sang that a lot.

I'm a teenager. Of the generation that has made the shittiest music since the 80's. My parents are always amused that me and my bro are always listening to what they listened as kids. I have dreamed and pined to have been at that concert.

4. I disagree, no simon and garfunkel for me.
"Who Can I Turn to" is far better

"Eskimo Friend" is far more powerful

"Brothers in Arms" is much more meaningful

Half the songs from "Miss Saigon" are better

"Peace" is simple yet better

I could list 100 songs with better lyrics than "Homeward Bound"
(probably many more). Plus, Paul Simon's voice
borders on embarrassing.

5. are you kidding?
For one thing, Paul Simon has a pretty damn good voice. But what I meant was... I was glad he exists as a writer. He's an undeniably good writer.

7. Many's the time I've been mistaken
And many times confused
Yes, and often felt forsaken
And certainly misused
Oh, but I'm alright, I'm alright
I'm just weary to my bones
Still, you don't expect to be
Bright and bon vivant
So far a-way from home, so far away from home

I don't know a soul who's not been battered
I don't have a friend who feels at ease
I don't know a dream that's not been shattered
or driven to its knees
Oh, but it's alright, it's alright
for we lived so well so long
Still, when I think of the
road we're traveling on
I wonder what's gone wrong
I can't help it, I wonder what's gone wrong

And I dreamed I was dying
I dreamed that my soul rose unexpectedly
And looking back down at me
Smiled reassuringly
And I dreamed I was flying
And high up above my eyes could clearly see
The Statue of Liberty
Sailing away to sea
And I dreamed I was flying

We come on the ship they call the Mayflower
We come on the ship that sailed the moon
We come in the age's most uncertain hours
and sing an American tune
Oh, and it's alright, it's alright, it's alright
You can't be forever blessed
Still, tomorrow's going to be another working day
And I'm trying to get some rest
That's all I'm trying to get some rest

American Tune -- Paul Simon

still true today, tho slip sliding away,

8. An old favorite!
I've loved that song since childhood. I was singing it on the way home Sunday night; no CD, no radio, it just popped into my head.

9. I've though about posting about that song before
You really have to have lived it to love it.

10. Yes, it is good....... I also like........
The Boxer, My Little Town, and a few others. I could listen to em over and over. Simon and Garfunkel gave The Beatles a run for their money in the late 60's / early 70's.
