What old TV series would like to have the Whole series of.
My wife loved Night Court and she would love to get the whole series but it seems they only came out with half the seasons than stopped.

Another series Designing Women.

11. I liked the last season.
And I LOVED the final episode.
The last season was a bit loopy, and the show needed to end when it did, but the last season was enjoyable. It proved that money does indeed make people do silly things.

I wanted to believe that she really did win all of that money, and that DJ really did find a girlfriend, and that Jackie really did meet her prince.

I like happy endings, and that one sure didn't deliver.

4. "Designing Women", most definitely!
Edited on Sat Nov-13-10 07:35 PM by pacalo
"Columbo", "Starsky & Hutch".

I only wanted & got the first season of "Charlie's Angels".

And, get this...we ordered the entire set of "Wings" for $100; it turned out to be episodes that were taped from "Nick@Nite" -- the N@N logo is seen in the bottom right corner on each episode, probably from a "Wings" marathon period. A further ripoff is that the audio at the end of every episode is cut off by N@N voice-over promotions of other programming. They were bad about that & it was very irritating since the endings were always clever.

Edited to add "The Bob Newhart Show" is on our list.

Looks like they stopped with the DVD reissues at Season 4.

My hope is that within the next few years, Netflix or something similar, will have an even greater selection of old TV shows and movies that weren't issued on DVD or even VHS.

This is happening in small ways with music on iTunes (Verve released a number of old albums as digital downloads that they never issued on CD) but I think it could go a lot further.

The Paladin series with Richard Boone was one of the best of the westerns with many episodes written by Gene Roddenberry (pre Star Trek) and directed by Andrew McLaglen.

The release of DVD sets is finally catching up with public demand. The fifth season will be available later in November 2010.

81. I used to watch after school.
Sure the production values were slipshod, and the special effects are laughable by today's standards, but it was an incredibly ambitious venture as well. Plus, it had young Kate Jackson!:loveya:

Of course, with over 1200 or so episodes, it might take a while to sit through!:)

83. Yep. I raced home to watch it after school, too.
The draw for me was Barnabas. :loveya:

Funny, as a kid I loved Jonathan Frid, who was old enough to be my dad, and now I love Alex O'Loughlin and Aidan Turner, both young enough to be my sons. There's just nothing like a vampire.

I could probably devote an entire vacation to watching. It was only a half hour, and minus the commercials it couldn't be too bad.

1200 episodes? Really? Gosh, I didn't realize it ran that long!

94. Me, too!
I used to ride my bike to school, and I can remember when the bell rang at the end of the day, making a dash for the bike and peddling like mad to get home in time to see Dark Shadows!

Ah, the memories!!!

It would be cool to have the complete series, even though a couple of the shows were a little boring.

103. I've thought about getting the series "Weeds" on DVD but...
the show was really good the first 3 seasons and then started a decline on the 4th season. I didn't even bother to get Showtime for the 6th season, figured I can wait until that is on Netflix.

I mean it was a great premise - Widow mom deals pot in order to pay the bills after her husband died unexpectly. But it seems each year they tried to dig her into the next level of dealing. Season #2 she was a grower. Season #3 she was working for gangs. Season #4 she was involved with the Mexican Cartel. Season #5 she was married to the drug kingpin. I mean they were running out of levels for her to go. It just ran out of levels for me.

But those first seasons were really great!
