So, I just saw the movie It's Complicated and would like to know...
who writes this kind of unbelievable kind of shit and gets away with it?!?!?

While this flick had some laughs in it, it has "Movie Made By Formulaic Methods Follows" stamped all over it. Frankly, if I made wrote and made movies, I'd be embarrassed to have my name attached to this thing because of all the standard bullshit that is in it's entire production and manufacture.

But the kicker is the unbelievable aspect of it - here we have a divorced woman sending her last child out into the world and she is now finally getting the HUGE kitchen of her dreams?!?!?!

Now, on a happy note, I did think Alec Baldwin did a really good job (and there is one scene were he shows an evil menacing side that was extraordinary - especially in a picture like this - he has a stare that was frightening as hell).

1. As an older divorced female, I was surprised by now funny it was and
advised a girlfriend to watch it, who also thought it was hysterical. True, the part about the "dream kitchen" was unbelievable and a sore point for me - already had a great kitchen in a gorgeous house with amazing view - and why was the planned new kitchen so far from the original house? Meryl Streep as always was wonderful.

2. May I recommend Woody Allen's new movie?
It's called "You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger". I liked it quite a bit, and I don't always like Woody Allen. He's not in it, btw.

3. Yeah, the kitchen thing was crazy but I still thought the film was hilarious
Alec Baldwin, especially.

4. Maybe one or two movies a year are made for
middle-aged moviegoers, particularly women. I went to see it in the theater, and the full house of older views thought it was hilarious - maybe just not your kind of movie

5. I enjoyed aspects of it...but...
the other parts made them less memorable.

There's something about Alec Baldwin that just keeps getting better and better. And I love it that he has enough confidence to show his bloat on screen like he did. When he slaps his gut, that was great.

And Meryl Streep...when isn't she good.

But it's the establish-mood-with-music-video part and the canned filming techniques (like the scene in her cook shop - anarchy is bliss-CSN fueled feel good segment). It's like they film these things and say, "okay, family, all walk abreast in this scene, then ladies all laugh here at this point" and "here's where we have to put this part"...cookie cutter movie making.

6. I liked it too
Saw it in the theater, even took the hubby, and we and the sold out audience loved it.

7. I didn't believe it. I didn't like it. I thought they wasted a wonderful cast.
