For me that's just the most recent one because certainly there are worse. It's just that sometimes it gets to be too much.

7. The article linked is even worse.
There are children in the family involved. The youngest (4 years old) is traumatized and doesn't really understand death yet.

10. The sad thing is that the story about the dog is again up on the Latest Page.
Don't people ever check to see if a story has already been posted? Don't they think that life is sad enough without having to post this kind of story again and again? Are there people who get some kind of perverse delight in posting these kinds of things?

12. That story really upset me
I'm not even someone who would consider herself a huge "animal person," but.... DAMN. That poor dog - and that poor soldier! They survived hell just to meet with an awful tragedy back home

13. Just in case anyone missed it, the story was posted again this afternoon.
It's already a dreary and depressing November day. Who needs to see a story like that posted and reposted and reposted.

In fact, I often hide them. Sometimes it's too much to even be reminded of them.

17. Yes, I have to immediately hide any thread about harming animals or children.
Edited on Tue Nov-16-10 08:57 PM by Lisa0825
I think my ability to cope with thoughts of such things has become exhausted.

IN fact, I almost hid your thread, assuming incorrectly what it was about, and then decided to check it out.

18. It is only 'to much'
if you believe that any of the system methods of changing perceptions of people is a reason to join them, it is power without reason or right.

Really if someone tries to stop you from what is right, does it matter what they do? In the same way they might try to be able to limit who sees what you do. And from that try to limit what you do. But by doing those things, they make their argument wrong, and remove their ability to convince you of anything.

Making them unable to do anything about what you think and feel is right. They win the material, you win the ethereal.

And I am still due beer and travel money and many experiences, and they will be paid to me.
