It's been a rough two years living next to those pieces of crap. Now, I don't have to be woken to the sound of her bitching at her kids, her kids screaming at each other, or her husband (actually ex-husband) just being a loud asshole.

Thank Jeebus!

1. Well, I'd feel bad for the kids
but their parents?... If they are as bad as you describe, then no way! Enjoy!!! :woohoo:

2. same here - this experience is going to be awful for the kids..
and they're only horrible b/c their parents are horrible, who may have had horrible parents themselves, etc...

But no, I wouldn't feel guilty for gaining some peace and quiet.

3. I don't feel too bad for them after the scratched my car and then denied it...
... and spent the last two years leaving trash all over the place in front of my apartment.

6. You are not wrong at all.
My nice, old woman next store had to move in with her son in CA due to declining mental capacity. Now I have her ne'er-do-well youngest son as an almost constant pain-in-the-ass. Arrogant and stupid, but drug addicted so he doesn't know what an idiot he is to people. He acts like the world owes him a living as do his multiply ex-wives and bedraggled children. I had some compassion for his daughter, but as soon as he realized it he tried to use me through her, give an inch, he'll take a mile.

All of them able bodied but living off the government some way or another. Now he is living free-of-charge and he thinks because he is my neighbor, I should bother with his sorry ass. I am so not a judgmental person, but this guy and his, were over here almost every day, wanting to borrow lawn tools, carpet shampooer, coffee or something. Finally my husband told him as nice as possible that we are actually busy with our lives and don't have time to jump his car or keep his dog from digging up my garden.

10. We lived next door to that kind of mess
We thought the kids names were Goddammitashley and Jesuschristjessica.
It will do you no good to feel guilt about your feelings. Go do something that matters elsewhere in an attempt to balance the universe.

12. I went through that here too and it felt good when I danced in their empty apartment
Old man would get so drunk he'd get hauled off to the tank overnight. One night he swung at the cops. 30 days in the hole. Kids would set off fireworks all hours of the day and night when the parents weren't home.

The oldest brat 1) set fire to a dumpster 2) threw another kid's cell phone in the sewer 3) got caught painting graffiti on the buildings 4) finally got kicked out of school while a freshman at the ripe age of 17 for stealing. And the parents were always behind on the rent.

FINALLY last August came the Sheriff, the apartment got emptied on the front lawn and locks changed, and the trash threw most of their shit in the dumpsters and drove off in their destroyed Ford Windstar, sans Dad who once again was in jail for drunk and disorderly.

They brought upon themselves their woes.

I feel your relief.

13. Yes it is wrong. It is terribly deliciously sweetly wrong. If you didn't
take some pleasure in their misery and your relief, you would be a saint.

Nobody likes them.

Either way, it's fine... :)

and when bad neighbors cost me a decent night sleep it's tough to be upset when they are evicted.

21. Far from wrong. It is one of the joys of life.
My friends & family are familiar with my tales of bad neighbors, so somebody sent this:

"HOUSE FOR SALE BY OWNER BECAUSE MY NEIGHBOR IS AN ASSHOLE!"

(I fully realize it's aimed at me.)
