1. My house is scheduled for a Dec. 1 foreclosure auction.

And my unemployment benefits are scheduled to end on Nov. 30.

I am facing a doom scenario like I've never faced before, and there is no mom and dad to run home to this time.

3. Not sure what to say, except all the best.

I am moving in with my girlfriend in December. She lost her job in January, and has a nice house which she will lose; she can't keep draining her savings. At our age, there aren't other options. Thank God or something I have a good job. I give up my freedom, but so what. I'm also helping support my 34-year-old daughter and her fiance. Stretched thin, but that's what we all have to do to survive nowadays.

Your situation is far more dire. I don't know what to say, except I hope for the best for you, and that friends will step up.

....and that any advice here is either redundant or useless. I just have to remind you that they must produce the deed to sell the house. Are foreclosures stopped by filing bankruptcy? That used to be the case.

Did you get any help from local advocacy groups?

This is so frustrating. I'm so angry. It doesn't have to be this way.
