Sex and the City 2 was one of the worst movies I've seen
in recent years. WORST.

And this is from someone who liked the HBO series and thought the first movie was OK (at best).

Stupid puns, idiotic characters. STUPID STUPID and insulting. The movie SUCKED.

OK. Rant over.

4. without having seen that particular movie, part VIII through infinity,
I'll opine that SATC2 might be a bit better simply b/c there is no gratuitous violence.

That is its only saving grace, however.

3. Seriously? Because I couldn't make it past the first movie. Gack. I liked the series okay, didn't
see the whole thing, and definitely thought the premise got pretty tired. But at least the dialogue was somewhat amusing. The movie (the first one) seemed like it was written by a someone who got kicked off a Hallmark Hall of Fame movie for poor writing. It was so wooden and stilted and tired. I couldn't believe they bothered with a second, and would not waste two hours of my life watching it.

6. I"ve had the flu. And just ventured to the local RedBox
to grab a few movies. I thought it would AT LEAST be some armchair travel diversion, but no, it was awful. Stilted, wooden acting and an embarrassing script.

7. What is the big deal about spoiled Muffies?
Who get ecstatic over shoes that I would break an ankle in.

I found out that somewhere back there, I guess in the series, one of the characters got an Asscher cut ring and therefore that is why Asscher cut diamonds are hip. That's the only thing I know about the series.

9. I agree
and the characters' total disregard of customs and taboos in a Muslim country was particularly offensive. The writers should be ashamed.

10. Any gratuitous sex or violence?
How about any kind of social redeeming value?

11. It kept quite a few people employed, if that counts.

12. I agree
for me it was the disrespect given to Arab culture and Carrie as a nagging wife.

13. I agree the puns were stupid, the plot silly and all. But I still enjoy all the clothes and girltalk

14. see, though - that's what I missed. Not much good girltalk,
just stupid puns about being all dried up. One or two halfway decent conversations, and that was it.

The rest was Samantha acting like an absolute idiot and everyone else smirking and rolling their eyes.

If they could have taken some of the best of the show - some clothes that weren't too ungodly expensive, plus some decent conversation, it could have been good.
