1. I signed up for it
I was really excited about it and then a boatlaod of stuff happened right around November 1 (mother sick, brother flying in from CO, etc) and I never typed one word.

So, how is your novel? and congratulations!

3. I think it's good
I call it "You know you've wanted to do this." It's about a guy who goes into a store that's LIKE Walmart but far, far more evil, right after he got off work. The store's corporate headquarters controls the registers, so there's only one open in the whole place and a couple hundred people lined up to use it. Well...he pulls out a gun, takes the place hostage, and as the full extent of their evil is revealed (a very large part of the book is devoted to the revelation the CEO had all the fire doors welded shut to keep shoplifters from escaping) he wins allies among the National Guard, the state police's SWAT team, the city police department and the FBI. In fact, the only people who are AGAINST him are the CEO, the CEO's bought-and-paid-for governor and the governor's fully-owned state police.

It attacks Republicans, deregulation, corruption and overbearing corporations.

8. Actually, yes
I've been planning to write this thing for quite some time, and decided to wait till the contest started to actually whip it up.

BTW, it was done on the 17th.

2. Congrats
I stalled at about 7k. But there are 8 days left. That's only 5k / day...

I waste all of my time reading the forums instead of writing.

5. I'm in -
mostly for the hell of it.

I have written a lot in my day. Almost exclusively non-fiction, so this is a new frontier. Fifty thou words - no problem. Fiction - kind of a problem. I'm not happy with the result. May have to go back to photography and digital manipulations as a diversion.

6. I hate you
x(

Okay, not really. :D I'm envious, is what I is. I just broke 20K words, mainly because my son was sick for several days, and I also have an article due by the end of the month that has been taking up a lot of my time. I don't think I'm going to hit 50K (I did last year), but I think I'm okay with that--what I really want to do is finish the story. I started it last year and I used this year's NaNo to write the second half. I don't need an additional 50K to finish it--but I did think that if I had 100K total, that would give me some wiggle room to edit it down into a tighter final version.

Anyway, congrats! :hi: :toast:

9. Nice!
I'm still working on my "regular" book and didn't want to be distracted from that. It's bad enough that the rest of the world (work, DU) are such huge distractions already ;)

So, is yours finished, or do you still have a bit more to go?
