Abdominal Wall Hernia Surgery |
|
Has anyone ever had this surgery? My sister (and best friend) is having surgery today for an abdominal wall hernia and I'm worried. From everything I've read, it's not a big deal but it is surgery so to me it is a big deal. She's one of those exercise freaks and at age 53 is in excellent health.
If you've had this surgery and can share how your recovery went, I'd love to know.

1. Mine went well initially |

and recovery was a bit drawn out for me because I had other problems at the same time which became problematic again. But the hernia repair part of the surgery went smoothly.
Any difficulties may come from how long the incision is...it can be a bit tough to take care of personal hygiene at first with a long incision due to the inability to bend well for a short time. (If that makes sense) :)

her not following the surgeon's instructions afterwards - if she is an exercise freak, she is going to likely be limited for a couple months - but she should ask and then follow the instructions of her doctors.
