I mean I guess for a teenager he is cute but honestly, he'll be on Celebrity Rehab in about 5 years.

1. Me either. But from what little I know of him, he seems to be
one of the more 'wholesome' images out there. Is that correct? If so, then I am glad that so many of my inner city students are crazy about him, instead of someone promoting sex and violence.

2. Lindsay Lohen and Brittney Spears were considered 'wholesome' too
go figure.

25. Actually he's a shithead with an authority problem.
Punched a kid in Vancouver last month in the face at a Laser Tag arena. Was nearly arrested at a state fair last summer for throwing water balloons at a police officer. That's just recent history.

4. My 8-year old loves him,,,but she's *8*
She plays with barbies and baby dolls, and writes "I {heart} Justin Beaver" in her journal. LOL!

I can't see how he would appeal to anyone over the age of about 10.

7. I work with quite a few college-age people...

...and it makes me laugh (in the same way as droopy-pants) to see
a SURPRISING number of young adult men who have adopted the
hairstyle of an adolescent boy.

I just don't get the message there.

OK, OK!!! Maybe I was the only white guy at our high school with
a Jackson-Five-era Michael Jackson 'fro... but at least I CLAIMED
it was modeled after Billy Preston's.

9. I read a great analysis during the Michael Jackson Bad/Thriller years...
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
...about the rabid fascination with Michael Jackson among so
many teenaged girls of the time.
.
.
.
It had to do with the extremely sexual while simultaneously
completely non-threatening nature of his persona/presentation.
.
.
.
It allowed them to walk on the wild side without angst of any kind.

8. The Simpsons said it best
Lisa's favorite fanzine is "Nonthreatening Boys Magazine". Something about preteen girls...they just love pretty, testosterone-deficient males. (Says MG, once deeply in love with David Cassidy and, later, Shaun Cassidy.)

12. I was trying to remember if there had been an equivalent during my time...
.

...to my above-mentioned phenomenon of young adult MALES who emulate
the Justin Bieber look and David Cassidy came to mind (if only so we
could gaze at Susan Dey all day long)

But I don't remember ANY of us wanting to be like Danny Bonaduce.

I am glad you didn't take this the wrong way. You are not old per se, but you are no pre teen or teen. Those ages find diff things appealing.

20. I wouldn't be like that - I just found that whole statement funny
Like India has these minutemen militias protecting the borders to ensure music like NKOTB or N'Sync or Justin Bieber do not cross the borders

It was a good laugh and I needed a good laugh today!

Damn, maybe we should have had them on our borders with Canada since Bieber is Canadian. WE could have stopped this

33. This year's answer to Miley Cyrus or the Jonas Brothers.
Get children to buy popular musical dreck and they will keep doing it as teens and adults.

Doesn't his hairdo make him look a bit like a Japanese cartoon character? Just an observation. Not trying to be derisive.
