1. Statlers?

I just watched their farewell concert on PBS a couple weeks ago.

Harold Reid had me LMAO.

6. The Statlers used to tour with Johnny Cash.

Saw his package show a couple of times, long ago. The Statlers did a few numbers and some humorous bits. The Carter Family (Maybelle & her daughters) took their turn. Carl Perkins was part of the band--he usually sang Blue Suede Shoes. (A very young Marty Stuart was also in the band.)

Johnny was center-stage for the last part of the show. The Statlers put aside their joking & sang beautiful backup harmony.

5. The guys in the test lab used to have a radio

They would occaisionally play Country music on it. I was forced to make a sign that read "In case of Country music, smash radio".

Most of the country I like ain't on the radio. Alt-country or Americana is what it's tagged, I guess.

12. I love country, too

Traditional, alt-country, and yes, quite a bit of modern mainstream country - even though it leans towards pop. Breathe by Faith Hill, for instance, is a good pop-country album. And Shania is fun, IMO, while coming up with riffs that show fusion of genres. Then there are artists like Dixie Chicks, Alan Jackson, Martina McBride, George Strait, Patty Loveless, Vince Gill, and Dwight Yoakam either keeping things fresh or continuing the country tradition.
