Rocky was hit by a car tonight and I just got back from the animal emergency hospital, where he still is, in shock and with a messed up hind leg. I am most worried about the shock. He's 15 years old but a healthy guy though. He hardly goes outside at all; maybe 15 minutes a day. I just can't believe it happened.

He has to make it through the night to pull through.

Please send Rocky Ricardo all your best karma tonight!
And I could use a few hugs myself. I have to try to sleep without
my little guy nestled in my left arm.

13. That must have been awful

I lost two other cats in my life to cancer. It's been a long
time now, but it still hurts thinking about it.

Seems I have never NOT had a cat, and I just hate that my
heart has been broken so many times when they perish.

But they just bring so much love and joy to my life that I
just have to have a cat own me, always.

I'm definitely not ready to lose Rocky, so thanks for the good thoughts.

23. Looks like Rocky is going to make it

I called the hospital and they said he responded well to the various therapies they use for the shock: IV fluids, steroids, heat cubicle, and pain meds. I don't think they had to give him packed blood cells. His temp is up to normal and he is peeing okay.

Next step is for me to call and make a consultation appt with the surgeon regarding his injured leg. Hopefully I will get that within the next couple of hours.

Thanks so very, very much to all of you who sent your karma, prayers, wishes and even a guardian kitty angel. It seems to have worked!

I know the battle isn't over, but I do feel some optimism now.
