Kristin Hersh Appreciation Thread
Are there any fans in here? Solo, muses, 50 Foot Wave - I love it all and I have for over 20 years. Seriously, if I had to listen to only her music for the rest of my life, I would be okay.

Here are a few selections:

Throwing Muses --Limbo (live) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dxa72d_ZB8I

50 FOOT WAVE: "Pneuma" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rv3KFnGioYQ&NR=1

Kristin Hersh - Echo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ojaoaHr3nZ8

If you love her, post some of your favorite songs. If this is your introduction to her, what do you think?

2. Cool.
I discovered her in the early 80s when I was in high school. Throwing Muses started out on 4AD which was one of my favorite labels at the time and I would pretyy much buy anything they put out. She's been my very favorite since about 1986. I love a lot of music, but I always come back to her.

She's an amazing guitar player and her songs are so freaking interesting.

Here's her website: http://www.kristinhersh.com/

14. I would definitely do that moment over.
I told her I had a present for her and she was excited like that was so cool and thoughtful. It was one of my own homemade CDS. She was gracious but I realized, it would have been cool if I got her an actual present, and if I just wanted her to listen to my music, I should have just asked her straight out if she would take the disk, 'cause after all, it's really a present to me. I'm sure ten thousand dorky girls have given her their homemade CDs. By the time I realized what a jerk I was, it was way too late.

Find an empty promise and stick by it.

EDIT: I see you're a guitar lover. Do you have anything online?

6. oh, yes a great band- had most of their records, and saw them open for
REM on the Green tour, I think it was.

They were great! I was looking at Kristen's recent book, too.

9. she's a fascinating woman
Belly was cool, too. Saw them here once as well. Had several of their CDs. There don't seem to be as many intriguing bands like that these days.

15. Well, KH is still prolific as hell.
Have you checked out her recent solo stuff or 50 foot wave?

I liked the first Belly album for a while but it got old for me.
