Home alone for turkey day.. No problem.
My wife and daughter took off last Sunday to "Best Friends Animal Sanctuary" to work and play with the dogs, cats, horses, and pigs. On their last visit they worked with the bunnies too but didn't want to do it this time because the bunnies won't interact, they just run like.. rabbits.

My son comes in once a day to sleep, food, or cash and is having dinner with one of his buddies.

I celebrated the day by unclogging the kitchen sink, and will finish off the plates that accumulated during the last couple of days. I poured a couple of big bottles of drain cleaner in to the sink, but even letting it sit over night did not work. I ended up having to partially disassembling the piping under the sink and using a hand operated drain snake.

My plans were to surf today, but it rained a couple of days ago so the water is contaminated from urban runoff. I won't paddle out after a rain anymore. In the past I have gotten pretty sick from getting in the water one or two days after a downpour.

To those that have a bad time of it because of difficult, or absent families I offer you virtual hugs. I figured my time alone would be enjoyable, but I'm am surprised that I miss being with my wife as much as I do. I guess I've been somewhat domesticated.

For dinner I am thinking of going to my favorite Chinese restaurant. We will have a family turkey dinner Saturday. Being Native American leaves me ambivalent to this holiday.
