2. I liked it when it was on, many years ago, when I was a kid. Before
tv, or in the transition years to tv where the shows were still on radio, and just starting on tv.
I also like that Garrison Keillor show, when I used to hear it. Mostly, sometimes he would get too hokey or homely, and I'd have to turn it off. But he has a lot of good moments.

Of particular interest to me are:

Jack Benny

Good News (1938-1940) Variety with lots of surprises

The Big Show (ca. 1950) 1.5 hours of variety and comedy hosted by Tallulah Bankhead (she had a wonderful gift for comedy and self-parody -- who knew?)

I also like to listen to Information Please.

Oh, yeah. Then there's the Stan Freberg Radio show (1957). TV was already in full swing. His critically acclaimed show could never garner a sponsor.

All available on the above-mentioned link.

5. Do you mean old time Rock 'n Roll?
What is the time frame?

In the 50's and 60's, when I was a kid, it was all Rock 'n Roll radio. In fact we all trucked around holding transistor radios when I was in HS.

College? Heck with radio, we slept when we had spare time.

I'll try and remember to listen tomorrow. Music to wash dishes by for me on the East Coast.

10. Hey, is there an app for that?
I stream a lot of stuff through the iPhone to plug-ins in the car and house. I love Old Time. In fact I love anything that assumes I have an attention span.

11. I fall asleep Monday through Friday
listening to "When Radio Was" on WBBM in Chicago. It comes on about 12:05 AM, and I am usually asleep before it's over just before 1:00 AM.
