8. Thanks! i think i got those from Target years ago. they are pretty
but stoneware dishes are difficult to eat in as they are very heavy. so now they get used as serving dishes

12. aversive racism js when people have negative beliefs about a minority
but profess to egalitarian beliefs. its how modern racism looks.

16. Isn't that how most prejudices get a pass these days?
People seem to take great pride in being egalitarian, while also holding onto prejudices for dear life. It's just a matter of keeping them masked within polite and rationalized bounds, so that the person can pretend they aren't there. :(

17. I think I gained five pounds just looking at all that good food.
If I try real hard, I think I can smell everything through my laptop.

Always nice to be near friends and family, and sharing a holiday meal.

26. Olive oil for the scampi. no butter.
The salmon i sauteed some garlic in olive oil, put in the salmon fillets, added some wine, some cream, some lemon juice and pepper. Only trick is not overcook good salmon!

If I ever find a big enough clay pot.

Maybe next year, I'll cut up the turkey and throw some in the tandoor, or ask the guys at the local Indian restaurant if they could do one up like - Diwali meets Thanksgiving.
