Well, I'm supposed to still be eating "blenderized" food (pureed to
the consistency of applesauce), because I still have all those wires and clips and other metal nonsense in my teeth.

So would it surprise any of you even a tiny bit that I said screw it, and ate a bacon cheeseburger for dinner?

It hurt, but DAMN, was it tasty. And worth it.

1. My dear Redstone!
And the best part?

You'll be picking pieces of it out of those wires for some time to come, thus prolonging the good memories!

Sounds to me as though you're on the mend, my dear friend!

2. I hope you didn't forget to floss.
About a week and a half to go if memory serves.

13. And I can have one right now if I want! Neener, neener!
But OTOH somebody would have to bring it to me. I can't hobble more than two steps without a cane. Remember, I'm the guy who hacked his big toe off with a lawn mower. Just a flesh wound.

Hang on till Friday, I'm looking forward to hearing about it.

17. Yeah but, yeah but, you could get someone to give you a ride to the steak place,
and hobble in from the car, yes?

There's not an obstacle that can't be overcome with a bit of inventiveness, cunning, and conning, is there?

Christ, if it comes down to that, I'll drive (as soon as the broken ribs will let me) and you can hobble in for your steak. I'll watch and snatch the wired-teeth-size scraps.

6. How can one floss with wires on one's teeth?
What are you supposed to do? Use one of the wires to floss?

5. MM!M! Nothing like a good hamburger!
My boyfriend has a similar diet because of his plastic jaw, but every once in awhile he will dig in!

can look forward to eating normally again some day.

he's already lost 60lbs. New treatments and gamma surgery to look forward to though!

7. pfft, When I had a bunch of wires in my mouth, my mom pureed a whopper
Edited on Tue Nov-30-10 10:05 AM by charlie and algernon
My mom went to burger king for everyone and she got me a whopper because she wanted to see if she could put it in a blender. Took LOTS of ketchup and some water but it worked. First and ONLY time I drank a hamburger through a straw.

9. I worked with a woman who had had her mouth wired shut. She said she
put a cheeseburger in a blender and ate it that way.
