I am not the only person that has seen that type of person you show in that statement, they see people as monsters. It is in the Langoliers movie.

6. Oh, I think zombies would win

In the few zombie flicks and shows I've seen - most recently "The Walking Dead" - those zombies are UG-frickin-LY!!

Yet, in the vampire movies I've been forced to watch, the victims are usually utterly gorgeous, nubile, dewy-faced sweeties, or hunky dudes. Not dripping-with-gore, out-of-control zombies.

Zombies don't care who they consume, yet seems like vampires might. That gives the edge to zombies.

Yes, my life is so dull that I give these things deeeeeeep thought. :P

8. You might want to watch the older vampire movies, then.

Such as Nosferatu (silent and color versions) and Vampyr.

And then there are the space-vampires, like in Lifeforce and Stargate: Atlantis ;)

One thing these have in common is mind-control. All they'd have to do is make the zombies focus on each other and wait until they decimate their populations. Vampires can wait a long time and not rot like zombies :P

zombies don't attack each other, only live folks. And yet, eventually their supplies of fresh braaaaaiins will run out, so they'll all starve anyway.

But I'll definitely look into your suggestions for flicks. My kids are into those movies, and have them on DVD. Mind-control, hmmm, maybe I can learn sumpthin. LOL

12. An anime movie you could look up is Vampire Hunter D.

In that one, the vampires are thousands of years old. At least in the stories, if there's no 'food' supply, or an inadequate one, then they 'sleep' until it rebuilds. They do the same with the space-vampires, making them hibernate hundreds of years and then awaken to "cull the herds" before going back to sleep. Vampires will also feed on each other if supplies of blood/life-energy are low.

I seem to recall the zombies of the original "Night of the Living Dead" eating each other, too. Or maybe they were just fighting for non-zombie food. Seems like they wouldn't care so long as it's animated. Dead bodies in the ground don't seem to be so appealing, and vampires are often "buried" when they are asleep ;)

Oh, there are other zombies, too, namely those used in voodoo. Now they aren't looking to eat people; they're just a cheap workforce to do the bidding of the voodoo practitioner. An excellent example of this is shown in the movie "Cast A Deadly Spell" :)

16. Vampires are immortal, smart, have super strength...

and depending on the lore, they can fly. Weaknesses include any wooden object to the heart, decapitation, fire, they have to feed, and daylight.

But zombies don't need to eat, they don't need to think, and their only weaknesses are a shot to the head, decapitation, and fire. Their strength lies in their high numbers.

I'd say in the long run, zombies would win. But in a short-term battle, definitely vampires.
