Solution to the sweet potato problem.
So breakfast, for years, was an oatmeal-raisin square and a banana and coffee. So there was a mention that sweet potatoes are a miracle food, chock full of fiber, vitamins, and antioxidants and that somebody used "a sweet potato diet." Googling failed in identifying some kind of diet centered around sweet potatoes. Pondering on how to incorporate them into a regimen resulted in hitting upon substituting them for the banana. And a "recipe" was microwaving for 5 minutes. This was not a gourmet project.

Well, it worked out for a few days, with cinnamon and Splenda (and butter?) making them more palatable. But half of a large one led to day old halves that became cruddy in the micro and sometimes downright disgusting. One solution was the CANNED ones.

So, the pie option was out there. But that meant white flour crust and stuff. So then there were cans of pumpkin pie filling center stage because of the holidays and the question, is this "100% PURE" stuff COOKED, can be eaten out of the can?!1 Their 800 # chef chirpped that it was NOT a dumb question, that it was a WONDERFUL question, and that, indeed, the product is cooked and pure and can be eaten from the can. Will be adding the cinnamon and Splenda, not the butter.

Now, I *do* use a dish and spoon, so erase that image of somebody with a jagged can and finger-dipping.
