in Lake Louise. We cooked, cleaned and waitressed. We had no electricity. I showered in a waterfall every morning. Gorgeous and exciting. The customers were wonderful (apparently assholes don't hike up mountains). We lived up and and had a big dinner every night... with lots of wine of course.

I loved Final Checking more. There was something about following the bird to the cat and being there when the holdback fitting broke... MY thumbs up determining whether the bird was going to fly or not...

Oh, that and going T.O.W. to pin an S-3 vertical stab during a wicked storm at night. Only did that once, but boy oh boy was that fucking scary!

thanks for your service! What was so cool about it was the variety of folks who choose the Navy? as an option, how hard they had to work and the wide range of tasks that they had to perform. Being on the deck with the planes looked like a tough job.

4. Doing tech support for Phillip Morris.

The pay wasn't great, but I could play Counter Strike or Starcraft WHILE I was working. I also worked with a great group of fun people. Night shift was an absolute blast. We had pool, foosball, ping pong and more and we could pretty much play whenever things were slow (which was frequently). I also met my first (and only) love while working there. I have so many good memories of that place that I often tear up while thinking of it. I make a lot more money now, but I was never so happy as when I worked there.

I visited Banff on a conference field trip when I worked at my favorite job. I was a biologist working for a large university that had a satellite lab on a federal facility. The work was fun, for the most part. Got to do all sorts of cool biology stuff. Also got to got to a meeting every year, and I took advantage any field trips they offered. It was like a mini vacation. The pay wasn't great, but the conference made up for some of that. I liked it so much, I stayed 20 years. Would probably be there if some goddamn fucking cock-sucking son--of-a-bitch pissant flunky of Dickwad Cheney hadn't yanked our funding. That pretty much killed any travel, along with my career, which is as dead as a doornail at this point.

I loved it--listening to albums, interviewing bands, going out to clubs to see bands play several nights a week. Unfortunately, it didn't pay enough for me to support myself so I had a 'day gig' for more income (and health insurance). Fortunately, my job had hours from noon-9:30PM--perfectly compatible with my clubbing.

Loved it. Didn't even mind the sales part of it, though if it had been what I had to do to make a living (rather than supplement my student loan / school budget) I might have found it much more stressful.
