1. post the properties of the pic on the internet
right click on the picture you want to post and copy the url for the pic.

Paste that url in your message and the pic will appear.

10. Whoa!
First, the image is on a website, is it? If not, we'll talk about how to get it there.

When you view the image on the website, right click on it and, depending on your browser, you might see "copy image address." If you see that, do it. It puts the location of the image into the clipboard.

Then, in the DU message, paste that address. Control-V should work. http://www.*****.*** should show up (that's a URL, btw)

Click "Preview" to see that it worked. Preview doesn't post, but shows you what it will look like when posted.

3. If the image is already hosted on a website
Edited on Wed Mar-31-04 01:47 PM by Viking12
1) Right click on the image.

2) A list of options will pop-up, click on "Properties"

3) Copy the URL, paste it in to your DU post and bracket it with http://www.fakewebsite.com/gif -- do this without spaces between the characters.

use "img" at the beginnign of the URL and "/img" at the end. This will "hotlink" an image if you replace the quote marks with brackets.

8. pics
img does not work here..

just copy the whole url
bear in mind, that sometimes when you link a picture that is stored at someone else's site, they change the picture to "punish" people for using their bandwidth..

There have been times when the original picture is a cute little kitty, and a few hours later, it's a big ugly naked person..

See if your ISP offers webspace for your pics and just do a "save as" to your hard drive.. then upload to your own webspace.. THEN copy the properties url from your site.. That's the "nice" thing to do :)

A DUer has a site where people can upload pics.. I have lost the link though.. someone will post it for you :)
