21. Damn. I missed it.
In fact, I missed all of them. My pet-sitting clients called to say they were coming home early, so I spent the rest of the day straightening their house and picking up dog poo from their snow-covered yard! :)

22. It will be on weeknights at 11 pm (ET) starting tomorrow, Jan 3. You
can see them all!

I think it's one of the funniest shows ever...I didn't have cable when it first aired on HBO and only saw some episodes when Bravo aired them as repeats a few years later. But they were edited and censored, so I'm looking forward to seeing all the original episodes. :)

4. Awww, come now, Hippywife
Two Fat Ladies balances out the Pitbulls and Parolees. And don't tell me you can't get into a cooking show!

19. I like that show
I didn't see it enough when I did have cable and wish I watched more of it. It shows the day-to-day operations of the largest pit bull rescue organization in the US.

26. "Parolees" refer to many (but not all) members of the staff
The owner, she understands how difficult it is for recently released prisoners have when it comes to finding employment. Most seem to do well, some fall back into doing whatever is that they were doing that landed them in prison or they get fired. I recall one guy was fired because he kept playing with the dogs rather than cleaning cages and accidental let one get away but they were recovered the dog. I think a major theme of the show is second chances. The dogs are getting second chances and so are the workers is the way I look at it. :)

6. As a non-cable subscriber who likes neither parades nor football
I'm watching DVDs of Law and Order: UK.

The plots may be recycled from the U.S. version, but the change of setting adds interest, and the cast is terrific.

7. Interesting!
Ooh, that sounds interesting! I didn't even know there was a UK version. Since the show draws upon real-life incidents in the news, that would provide an interesting twist for a US viewer. Thanks for that tip! I'll have to look into renting that series.

As Hippywife points out, almost everything in that long list seems junk to me -- NOT appealing.       :puke:

14. That's why I get almost all my video entertainment from four sources:
1. PBS

2. Netflix

3. iTunes downloads

4. Foreign branches of Amazon for movies and TV shows that have never been released in the U.S. (although Law and Order UK was just released here a couple of weeks ago)

25. Law & Order: UK is quite interesting actually.
I've been catching a few episodes on BBC America.

We also got a new channel starting on broadcast digital - Antenna TV - and they started yesterday with a Three Stooges marathon, and today it's a Benny Hill marathon. How the heck they are getting away with Benny Hill (unless they're editing it severely) - sure it was family viewing in the 1980's but today.... ????

27. Yes, the way they adapted the scripts to the UK
is interesting. The episode about a fatal fire in an illegal Dominican social club (which really was "ripped from the headlines") was transformed into a story about a fatal fire in an illegal Turkish social club.

15. Watching Twilight Zone would be a real good thing...
Anthony wants to watch it, and it sure would be a real good thing if we watched it, too. A real good thing...

(And anyone who DOESN'T think it's a real good thing might easily end up in the cornfield.)

I wish they would do a marathon of the last season - I missed it and they usually do a marathon but I haven't seen it yet.

20. CNN did a "black in America" of debt. It was an excellent documentary. I think today is a day of
documentaries on CNN.
