I need to enter url because my mom thinks I can teach her to use this piece of shit.

Tap in the address box at the top of the screen.
Type in the desired address.

Poke around... Don't be afraid to point and poke... Apple designed a very discoverable UI.
Just give an iPhone or iPad to a three year old.. Watch how they learn it... They point and poke. The UI explains itself.
