Did anyone see the previews for the upcoming episode of "Hoarders"
:scared:

the man lives with pet rats - THOUSANDS of pet rats.

I thought this week's "Hoarders" was gross. One lady was overrun with farm animals and was so mean. She would keep the birds in plastic crates that had a foot of crap in them. She shouldn't have been on hoarders but on "Animal Cops". The other couple lived in a house over-run with bunnies.

But this week - this guy has thousands of pet rats living in his house. I am not bothered by rats but that many would freak me out!

1. And since rats will breed and breed there will be more and
more of them. Yikes.

3. Couldn't watch the latest episode...
the hoarders crossed some invisible line in my head. Too much obvious insanity, hostility and bad juju.

Erased it before the promos. Don't think I'll be watching the rat guy either.

14. Those were some seriously messed-up people.
I'm often amazed at how weird and awful people can be sometimes. :scared:

Most of the time the hoarders seem to be just sad, confused and overwhelmed -- but these people (the angry old farm woman and her crazy family AND the nasty passive-aggressive bunny man) were really hard to feel sorry for, although I should.

16. Me, too -- those poor chickens and ducks, in particular.
That woman was so awful and weird; I know there's something terribly wrong with her, and I should feel sorry for her, too, but --

4. That lady with the farm animals -- I hate her.
I don't care that you're not supposed to hate people. I hate her. I want to tie her to the floor and let her chickens peck her slowly to death. :grr:

5. That woman had some serious mental issues happening in her head
Edited on Wed Jan-05-11 01:08 PM by LynneSin
How could she NOT see the level of abuse those chickens crammed into crates were suffering.

She should have not been on hoarders because the professionals they brought in barely dealt with the real issue of the animal abuse. She should have been on Animal Planet's "Animal Cops" - there the humane society would have pulled out every single one of those animals, issued the woman a serious-ass ticket and not care how much screaming and hollering she did.

I understand how important it is to deal with hoarders and make them feel like they are a part of the process when it comes to their hoarding. I have a friend who is a mild (but clean) hoarder and I was helping her clean out one of her room (filled will old bills and other mail saved). I made sure she saw everything we found and she made the final decision on what was tossed. We were able to get that room cleaned out in a day. But it's one thing when it's objects; however, when it's animals then you should not worry what the hoarder thinks - just get those animals out of there.

6. Exactly!
I was so pissed off when they sent the Humane Society people away. They should have rushed in and taken every animal on the place. I had to watch the show to the end to find out what happened and it turns out that woman still has the chickens. Unbelievable!!!

8. I lost alot of respect for the show when they did that
I mean for me, a level 1 hoarder (clutter but organized and not overwhelming), this show inspires me to clean up my act.

I wonder what happened to those animals. I think some of the sick ones were pulled and those in cages were removed. But that womans screamed about how she did not want the ducks in water since she would not be able to get the eggs out of the water. Honestly, who the hell would buy eggs from here. Those eggs are probably oozing with disease since there were feces everywhere.

9. I thought you might want to read this. It was from Matt, the extreme cleaner from Hannah's place
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1497563/board/thread/176202942

Someone cross post it at IMDB discussion. I guess A&E is getting slammed for not removing those animals from the home but Matt has a valid point - there is alot we didn't see and it is true they need to build a case to get those animals out of there.

I hope they do a follow up on Hannah and that most of the animals are removed.

10. Thanks for that.
I was thinking that our factory farm system does this shit on a much, much grander scale. Sickening.

12. I LOVE rats :)
I'll have one or two someday! :loveya: I hope.

It's animal torture when people do this stuff. I'd cry for the whole show if I tried to watch.

13. I have a sister who is a hoarder, there is no help for her.
She filled up her house, and several storage units with crap.

I think there are a lot of people with this problem.

It is just a mental health issue.
