http://www.kakuro.com/

Scroll down to the Kakuro Master Online.

This is a cousin of Suduko (and one I enjoy alot). The goal is to place numbers between 1-9 in each box so they add-up to the value either to the left or top of the section. You can only use the number once in a group.

In case you don't feel like doing the Kakuro.

1. I'm already wasting all the time I need. I'll bookmark it and check it out later.
Thanks for the link. It looks like it could be fun.

2. Also referred to as cross sums.
It's a crossword with numbers. Their totals are listed above or below a 'fraction' line for across and down, respectively, I've learned a few tricks over the years, haven't done one in many a moon.

Each digit can be used only once in any given combo. So two digits adding up to 4, must be 3 and 1, because 2 and 2 would be a repeat.

See 7 as a three digit combo? Know that it is 4 2 and 1. Four spots adding to 30, can only be 6 through 9.

Outer edges are generally good 'ins'.

I suppose they are time wasters but they do buff the noggin some, like logic diagrams.

I'm a pencil puzzle fan, all I do anymore though is grab one as I'm heading to vacation, and I haven't been on one in a couple of years now. Cryptograms are probably the most fun for me. That's deciphering using letter substitution.
