In addition, the blogger was absolutely terrible at her day-job.

1. I even forgot what her day-job was
I liked the story and I watched the movie because I like Meryl Streep. But the voice she was talking in .... :scared:

2. I would much rather have seen a two-hour film about Julia Child
Meryl Streep was excellent in the role, even (especially?) with the voice!

But the "modern" tale did little more than interrupt the much more compelling story IMO.

3. I agree with you
the life of Julia Child is interesting enough to make a single movie out of it. Without interruptions.

But the voice was just too much for me. Not sure I could stand 2 hours listening to that.

What I found interesting yout the blogger was that she tried to cook all those recipes from the old cook book. We eat differently nowadays. So the cooking part was good, the drama queen part ... not so much

5. I was thinking about watching it again
cutting out the Julie parts. Meryl nailed Julia Child to a T. Voice and all.

8. I haven't seen the movie yet, mainly because of the "Julie" part.
But I do recall a local reviewer stating that he hoped there would be a "fan edit" released where all the bits we don't want to see are taken out, i.e., the "Julie" half :)

7. I read the book, it wasn't too bad
not really interested in seeing the movie.
