An update on someone who still needs a lot of vibes -

A class mate of my college sophomore daughter keeled over in class last September. She'd gone into atrial fibrillation as a result of a genetic defect. It's the same defect that drops a high school athlete in his or her tracks every so often. She was given immediate CPR and was in an ICU within half an hour. They cooled her body and induced a coma to try to limit brain damage. After a number of ups and downs, she had a pacemaker installed.

I hate to tell you this, because this is a hard story.

She had her left leg amputated beneath the knee because of a blood clot. She was blind when she first came out of her coma, but seems to be recovering her vision now. She's on a feeding tube and has a tracheotomy. Right now she's facing a lot of rehab, but she is in there and she's a fighter. So please keep sending your prayers and your vibes for her and for her family.
