I guess that group of hackers associated with the Wikileaks stuff struck again the other day. I think they call themselves Anonymous if I remember right. I haven't been following the news too closely lately. They picked the wrong day to try to get some press though. It was the day that all those people got shot up in Arizona.
I was getting some new drive tires for my truck that day. I needed them pretty bad. They give you a trade in allowance for your old tires because they can retread them, but a couple of mine were so bad that they wouldn't give me anything for them. I paid about $2850 and that was a good deal even though it's still a pretty good chunk of change. I was in Calvert City, Kentucky, not far from Paducah.
So, after they got the new tires installed and while my truck was still in the service bay, they told me to go up front and pay for the tires. It just so happened that a few minutes before I tried to pay, all of the credit card companies became unable to process transactions using the machines. So there I was unable to pay for my tires. I didn't know how long I was going to be there. I was having visions of them taking my new tires off.
The clerks thought that maybe they could get the transaction to go through if they called someone at the credit card company. After about 45 minutes on the phone they finally got it to go through. I don't know what would have happened or how long I would have had to wait if they hadn't done that.
