What's the oldest item in your fridge/cupboard?

I just found a bread machine mix that was best if used by 10/97.

In the cupboard there was some very old canned salmon and pumpkin pie filling from god knows when. Tossed those out a while back though.

7. Loaf of white bread that is

been in the cupboard since 1998. It is still kinda soft, no mold.
It was left behind in the cabin one summer, we found it the next year and realized how old it was and knew that to eat it would deprive science.
How many more years it will keep, we don't know.
I also have a can of peas that was a birthday gift in 1990, the label is gone but I know what is in there, oh yes I do.
I just checked on the egg noodles, 3 years. I bought them forgetting my wife is allergic to eggs so there they sit.

8. Root beer making extract form when we were first married

I thought it would be a cool idea to make my own root beer. Here it is, almost 30 years later and me, my wife, and the extract are still together!

... it would probably be one of the infrequently used spices. I use some spices quite a lot, but there are a few that must have been in there for at least ten years.

The oldest thing I have is some jam my grandma made before she died, it's probably over ten years old. I just keep it, I don't know what I'll do with it though lol

16. I would have to look at that would be work. But I have friends whose stuff can get very old.

I once worked for a food warehouse and I gave them a pound cake in a cardboard container with a cellophane top. I kept my eye on that pound cake for years and after 10 years I finally laughingly mentioned it to them. They still have some cans of soda sitting on a ledge in their basement and that brand is no longer made and they date back to that time so they must be 13 or more years old now.

I keep my fresh herbs and spices (in glass jars now) in the fridge.
