Try later," what does that mean? (I know I sound clueless but phones aren't my strong suit.)

I mean, doesn't everybody have voicemail? Shouldn't you at least be able to leave a message for the person?

1. Call blocking

Either blocking all calls or certain numbers.

2. I have had the experience that it could also mean a suspended account

for whatever reason...

4. Send them an email that says "Let me know when you're accepting calls again."

And leave it at that.

5. I don't have voice mail with my cell number

I presume when people are trying to reach me via cell that they need to talk to me NOW, not later. Otherwise, they would just call my home and leave a voice mail.

My sister has VM on her cell, but never listens to the messages - she just looks to see who the missed calls are from, and calls them back.

I remember in the old days, before people even had answering machines for their home phones - you just had to call back later. Imagine!
