Listening to Roger Wate- er- Pink Floyd's "The Final Cut"
First few times I heard it, it depressed the hell out of me. This is probably the fifth or sixth time I have heard it, and I have to say I now find it quite compelling. Certainly not the Floyd's finest album, but it's pretty damned good.

1. I love When the Tigers Broke Free. Best song
that didn't get on The Wall IMO.

... and that's how the High Command took my Daddy from me:

2. Speaking of Roger, have you heard Amused to Death?
I had not up until a few months ago. It's another great concept album.

5. Yes, I have
Liked it very much. Waters himself proclaimed Amused to Death as a fine work. And he isn't the type to compliment much.

4. Couldn't stand that album then, can't stand it now
Rumored to be leftover tracks from "The Wall." Lou Reed had "Berlin," Pink Floyd had "The Final Cut"...with the difference being that Reed's album was similarly misunderstood / reviled upon its release but is now seen to be a quirky classic (with a recent "Berlin Live" concert release from Lou.

I always leaned toward the Floyd songs with Gilmour in the spotlight...even if it happened to be a Waters-heavy tune, as long as Gilmour stepped up to take a solo or something to break up the wailing and whining.
